Treehouse Trouble is the eleventh episode of Series 9. It was written by Lizzie Ennever.
Plot[]
The plot revolves around the Pontypandy Pioneers—a group of local children including Norman Price, Mandy Flood, and Sarah and James Jones. The group is working under the guidance of Mike Flood, Mandy's father and the town handyman. Their task is to earn their construction badges by building a sturdy treehouse, which provides the setting for the day's events.
The central conflict is initiated by Norman Price, who is characteristically eager to be the first person inside the finished treehouse. In his haste, he takes a shortcut and fails to properly secure the crucial bracing poles designed to stabilize the structure. This oversight compromises the safety of the entire project, creating a hidden danger that quickly manifests once the building is complete and occupied. As the children gather inside their newly built treehouse, the structure begins to wobble violently and tilt to one side due to the lack of secure supports. The situation escalates into an emergency, prompting a call to the Pontypandy Fire Service. Fireman Sam, Penny Morris, and Elvis Cridlington arrive quickly to manage the high-stakes rescue operation, utilizing their equipment to stabilize the precarious structure.
The rescue is successful: Penny uses a ladder to reach the children and help them to safety, while Fireman Sam identifies the problem and secures the treehouse using the very bracing poles Norman had initially neglected.
