- This was the only 20-minute extended adventure for over 25 years, as The Return of Norman-Man was released in December, 2014.
- This is the first episode in the series where the credits scroll up.
- This is the only episode from the original stop-motion series to not have the still image of Jupiter in the garage over the credits. It also plays different closing music at the end of the episode.
- Recording date: November 18, 1988.
- When Norman is throwing snowballs from behind the dustbin, a wrapper can be seen which was probably on that of KitKat.
- This episode aired at 09:00 when it first aired on BBC One London on 22 December 1988.[1]
- This special is currently streaming on Pluto TV in the US via On Demand.
- The soundtrack to this episode was later released a year after it first aired, in 1989.
- The whoosh that is usually heard at the end of the closing credits before the Bumper Films Logo was absent when this episode was released on the VHS Norman's Tricky Day, meaning the cold night winter wind can be heard as the credits face to the Bumper Films Logo.
- This episode was never dubbed in Japanese or Korean.
- This is the only episode dubbed in Finland for the 2018 dub.
Goofs[]
- Trevor could have seen the snow drift sooner.
- The snow drift looks very unrealistic.
- At the end of the episode, when Sam hangs his stocking on the fireplace, he of all people is arguably creating a fire hazard as the stocking is hanging right in front of the flames, and there is no fire guard in front of the fire.
Quotes[]
Fireman Sam: You can say it now, sir.
Station Officer Steele: What? Say what? Oh, yes, yes. Um... Timber!
Fireman Sam: Well, I dunno, you're as young as you feel. Happy Christmas, Pontypandy!
