Sausages vs. Shrimps is the seventh episode of Series 7. It was written by Laura Beaumont and Paul Larson.
Plot[]
Norman Price instigates a friendly community barbecue rivalry between Trevor Evans and Tom Thomas to determine whose food tastes better. Trevor is planning the community barbecue and is all set to cook his famous sausages when Tom offers to cook his special king prawns as a competing option.
The conflict arises when Norman gets the two men to turn the event into a full-blown contest. In a bid to win the competition, Trevor becomes overzealous, putting far too much charcoal on his barbecue to ensure his sausages cook well and fast. This excessive heat causes the fire to quickly get out of control, spreading to nearby trees and starting a significant blaze. The Pontypandy fire crew, led by Fireman Sam, is called to the scene. Their emergency response involves extinguishing the spreading fire, keeping all the barbecue attendees at a safe distance, and cooling a dangerously heated gas canister that was close to the flames.
After the emergency is over and the situation is safe, everyone finally gets a chance to sample both the sausages and the king prawns. Unable to decide which delicious food is superior, Norman declares a tie, proclaiming both Trevor and Tom as the champion.
