Description[]
The Mobile Command Unit is a large vehicle that acts as Gold Command in large scale incidents, however, it was also used when Pontypandy Fire Station was being rebuilt. It appeared again in numerous episodes and specials
Basis[]
The Mobile Command Unit appears to be loosely based on a Los Angeles County Fire Department Incident Command Unit built by Freightliner.

- Like Trevor's Bus and the Mountain Rescue 4x4, this vehicle remains unnamed.
- It was initially based at Newtown Fire Station, but since Norman Price and the Mystery in the Sky, it is now kept at the rear of Pontypandy Fire Station.
- In real life, this vehicle is Gold Command at major incidents where typically six or more fire engines are required.
- Like Jupiter and Phoenix, it has stabilisation legs for wind resistance.
- Its siren is an echoed version of Titan's. Likewise, its sound is also a stock sound effect and can sometimes be heard in other pieces of media.
- Since Series 11, it now has a Map-screen 700 system yet the Teleprinter remains.
- In Series 16, a new replacement was purchased and now has:
- Four wheels as opposed to six wheels.
- A touchscreen map screen 700 with dual monitors.
- Six monitors with the overview of Pontypandy.
- Two electric vehicle chargers.
- Six lockers containing all rescue uniforms for the fire and police service.
- A compartment for a drone to fly out off and several exterior cameras.
- Shares its siren with Jupiter
