Bella's mother[]


Bella Lasagne's mother believed that spaghetti bolognaise was the best meal for helping to forget one's troubles. Years later, her daughter mentioned this to Sarah and James, after Sam rescued them from being lost in the fog.

Bella's uncle[]


Bella Lasagne has an Uncle who lives in Rome. He once gave his niece a black attaché case. Many years later, Bella decided she no longer had any use for this case, and burned it on a bonfire along with other rubbish.

The Bingles Staff[]


Two members of staff were heard in Bingles Department Store. A speaker informed shoppers that the store was about to close. Later, when Bella Lasagne got trapped in the lift, she managed to use the emergency phone to alert a security guard, who in turn alerted the fire service.

The Chief Fire Officer[]

The Chief Fire Officer for the Pontypandy Fire Service once informed Station Officer Steele, via letter, of his imminent retirement. Later, the Chief phoned Steele offering to let him continue his service, and Steele accepted the offer.

It is possible, though unconfirmed, that this is an indirect early appearance by Chief Fire Officer Boyce.

The Commander[]


During Fire Safety Week, a fire service Commander arranged for a fire engine-shaped hot air balloon to be flown to promote the event, and put the Pontypandy Fire Service in charge of flying the balloon.

Due to there being no such rank in any real fire service, it is possible that the person referred to as the Commander is actually the Chief Fire Officer.

Dilys Davies[]


Dilys Davies is a resident of Newtown, who became rich and famous after finding an old family heirloom, worth millions of pounds, in her attic. Dilys Price later read about Davies in the newspaper, and was inspired to search for a heirloom in her own attic.

Dilys' father[]


Dilys Price once searched through an old sea chest belonging to her Father in the attic, in the hopes of finding a priceless heirloom. Unfortunately for Dilys, the chest didn't contain anything she considered especially valuable.

Dilys' grandmother[]


According to Dilys, her grandmother came from pure Romani stock, and was good at reading tea leaves. She passed the art down to her granddaughter, and said that she would have a son who'd grow up to become prime minister of Wales.

Doris Steele[]


Doris Steele is the wife of Station Officer Steele. She owns a portable television set, which her husband once borrowed so that Sam and Elvis could watch his TV appearance on Today Wales.

Dylan[]

Dylan was mentioned in the episode Joker Soaker when he sent a gift to Norman. He is Derek's father, the possible father of Jenny, Norman's uncle, the possible husband of Phyllis, and the brother of Dilys Price.

Emlyn[]

Emlyn is a puppy who only appeared in the 1988 annual story It's A Dog's Life. He is the puppy of Miss Jones.

Farmer Thomas[]

Farmer Thomas is a farmer who only appears in the Fireman Sam sticker book To The Rescue! and is mentioned in another Fireman Sam sticker book Action Stations!

The Golf Club Secretary[]

While playing golf during his day off, Station Officer Steele remarked that he would have to talk to the club secretary about the supposed poor state of the course.

Norman mentioned that he thought his cousin Jenny was at Pontypandy Harbour in the season 13 episode Stand Up to be Rescued.

Miss Jones[]

Miss Jones is Sarah and James' teacher at school in the 1988 annual story, It's A Dog's Life. She owns a puppy named Emlyn.

  • Her surname Jones would eventually become Sarah and James' surnames in the CGI series, as well as Sam's.


Morgan The Garage[]

Morgan, also known as Morgan the Garage, is presumably a mechanic who runs a garage in Pontypandy. Sam once arranged for Morgan to repair Trevor Evans' bus when it was leaking oil.

Mr. Price[]

Mr. Price is the husband of Dilys, and the father of Norman. He has so far never physically appeared in the series, although he has been mentioned once. He owns a telescope, which his son once used to play a trick on both Dilys and Sam.

Mr. Roberts[]

Mr. Roberts once gave Sam permission to chop down a Christmas tree for the park in Pontypandy. Little is known about him besides his name, but it can be assumed that he's a member of the local council.

Santa Claus[]


Santa Claus is the legendary figure who appears at Christmas.

He was mentioned in the 1988 special episode, Snow Business.

Mrs. Thompson[]


Mrs. Thompson is a teacher who teaches Norman and Mandy. owns a mouse named Squeaky. She was only heard over phone and was not seen in "Trouble and Squeak".

Mrs. Williams[]

Mrs. Williams is the teacher of Sarah, James and Norman. She once made Norman retake a spelling test just before the Easter holidays. After Norman pretended to have chicken pox to avoid taking the test, Mrs Williams told Sarah and James to tell him he could wait to do the test until after the holidays.

The Newsreader[]

A television newsreader once narrated a news report of Dilys being rescued from a fire in her attic. The newsreader also mentioned that a precious brass statue Dilys rescued from the blaze was worth over two thousand pounds.

The Newtown Gazette Editor[]

When Station Officer Steele was about to earn a long-service medal for 25 years in the fire service, he wrote a letter to an Editor from the Newtown Gazette newspaper informing them of the anniversary. The Editor later answered Steele's letter with a phone call, agreeing to write an article about the presentation - albeit after mistakenly believing Steele had only been in the fire service for 5 years.

The Today Wales Presenter[]

When Station Officer Steele made his TV appearance on Today Wales, he was introduced and interviewed by the show's Presenter. Although the full interview was not show, the Presenter was heard asking Steele about the most common causes of house fires.

The Vicar[]


The vicar is a character that appears in the book Sam's Bumper Jumper.

The Weatherman[]

The Weatherman gives the weather report on the radio. Once, he reported on the strong winds blowing through South Wales. Later, on Christmas Eve, he reported on the previous night's heavy snowfall.

WP[]

WP is the call sign for the fire control officer, who oversees relaying emergency calls to the Pontypandy Fire Service. The officer, who has a female voice, has never been seen, but is usually heard whenever the fire service are away from the station. It is unknown what 'WP' stands for.

The Dentist is mentioned when Sam decides to make another trip after Elvis made him some tea and rice cakes.
