Mandy's Mountain is the third episode of the eighth series. It was written by Laura Beaumont and Paul Larson.
Plot[]
Mandy Flood is inspired to become a mountain climber after reading a book by Moose Roberts, but her ambition gets her and Moose into trouble. Instead of staying at the Mountain Activity Centre with the other children, Mandy follows Moose on a real practice climb up Pontypandy Mountain, leading to a dangerous situation where they become stuck on a ledge. The emergency call gives Elvis Cridlington, who was trying to write a book about Fireman Sam's heroics, the perfect story idea. Fireman Sam and his team are dispatched to rescue Mandy and Moose, after which Mandy learns a valuable lesson about the dangers of solo mountain climbing without proper experience. Mandy apologizes for her reckless behavior, and Moose assures her that with more practice, she will eventually achieve her goal of becoming a great mountain climber.
