Magic Norman is the fourth episode of Series 9. It was written by Tim Bain.
Plot[]
The Fire Service is being put through tests conducted by Chief Fire Officer Boyce, while Norman Price decides to put on a magic show at the Floods' house. He wants it to be the most 'spec-tac-ular' magic show ever, but as he sets up he realises he is going to need lots of effects for the show. Simultaneously, Chief Fire Officer Boyce is at the Pontypandy fire station conducting practical civilian rescue tests for the fire service crew. Fireman Elvis Cridlington is particularly nervous about his performance.
As the fire starts at the Floods' house, Mandy, who is acting as Norman's magician's assistant, accidentally gets left trapped inside a box during the evacuation. The fire crew is called to the emergency. While putting out the fire, Elvis successfully rescues Mandy from the box, passing his rescue test in a real-life scenario and impressing Chief Fire Officer Boyce. The episode ends with a lesson on fire safety regarding not overloading electrical sockets.
