Lighthouse Lock Out is the sixteenth episode in the eighth season. It was written by Laura Beaumont and Paul Larson.
Plot[]
Norman Price's attempt to shirk a chore goes wrong, causing several Pontypandy residents to get stuck on a lighthouse balcony. The trouble begins when Norman and Mandy Flood get Mike Flood's van muddy, and to avoid having their trip canceled, they promise to clean it upon their return. However, Norman, wanting to get out of the task, locks the group out on the balcony, believing it will be too late for the chore by the time they get down. When Mike realizes he has left his phone in the van, the trapped group has no way to call for help. Later, when Moose Roberts sees their distress signal, he attempts to climb the lighthouse to rescue them but ends up getting stuck and dangling precariously. The situation escalates until Fireman Sam and his crew, who are already nearby dealing with another muddy mishap, arrive to rescue Moose and the others with a helicopter and ropes. As a fitting punishment for his meddling, Fireman Sam ensures that Norman not only cleans Mike's van but also the fire engines, Jupiter and Venus, inside and out.
