Gary Lucas is an English actor who played the role of Fireman Sam in Fireman Sam in Action.

He is the Recipient of a Gold Diploma from the Ernie Newbold School of Speech and Tap in Eccleshall. Since starting his career he has supported some of the finest actors in the land most notably Howard Crossley in Can't pay? Won't pay! He has nearly worked for the Royal National Theatre and the R.S.C. Has seldom worked on TV and has never appeared in films or commercials. The highlight of his career came when he played, and lost, the Duke of Burgundy in the Frinton-on-Sea Repertory Company's production of King Lear, but this could be topped by winning the 1991 Derby Evening Telegraph Best Character Award for Sprules the butler, in Tour of Money.

Outside of Fireman Sam stage shows, on stage he appeared in productions of Way Upstream, Green, Measure for Measure, Antony and Cleopatra, Winnie-the-Pooh and A Christmas Carol.

On television, he has made appearances in Coronation Street (as the characters Mr Smedley and Mr Wallace), EastEnders (as the character George Hawkins), Hard Cases, Adam's Family Tree, Cold Feet, Emmerdale, Waking the Dead, Judge John Deed and Hotel Babylon.

  • Gary first played Fireman Sam in the second stage show, "Ready For Action".
  • He also played a hand full of Characters from the Postman Pat stage shows. Such as Rev. Timms, Major Forbes, Peter Fogg, George Lancaster and Ted Glen.
