- This is one of only 2 original series episodes to feature all 11 main characters (the other one was Disaster for Dinner).
- In the UK, this episode along with Safe with Sam not to be featured on the first 6 VHS from series 1-3 as it was first released on The Very Best of Fireman Sam. And Safe with Sam was not released on BBC Video, but it release on Ultimate Children's Favourites by Hit Entertainment.
- Up until this episode, there were never any electricity pylons along the Newtown Road, only telegraph poles. The pylons subsequently remain in place in Lost in the Fog.
- When Trevor is loading pumpkin lanterns in the back of his bus, he can be heard singing the hymn All Things Bright and Beautiful, albeit in parody form - the words he can be heard singing are “All things big and beautiful, all veggies great and small”.
