Summary[]
A black beast appears in Pontypandy and Woolly has disappeared. And when Mandy and the twins go off to find him, trouble starts to brew...

Trivia[]
- The scene with Woolly in the mud was filmed on 8 January 2004 by Tim Allen[1] (not to be confused with the famous American actor or the US animator known for his work on various Disney films).
- This is one of only four episodes where Fireman Sam is seen driving Jupiter alone in Series 5 apart from in the intro; the others being Mummy's Little Pumpkin, Deep Water and Norman's Invisible Friend.
- This is the only episode where Sam, Elvis, Station Officer Steele, Penny and Tom all respond to a rescue together.
Goofs[]
- When Sam is preparing to have Tom lift him up Pontypandy Mountain, Jupiter and Venus' headlights are off, but as Penny walks between the two vehicles, the lights suddenly switch back on by themselves.
- When showing the picture of the beast, in the title card, Sam is wearing his helmet, but when he shows the picture in Bella's cafe, his helmet is gone.
