The Classic Series of Fireman Sam, also known as the Original Series and the Old Series, originally aired between 1987 and 1994 with 32 10 minute episodes and one 20-minute Christmas special titled Snow Business.

• This series is sometimes titled as "The Original Series" or "The Old Series".
• Apart from Sam, Elvis and Dilys speak and appear in every episode.
• This series is followed by the New Series.
• Series 4 is the only season where Sam's catchphrase, "Great Fires of London!", is not used.
