Trivia[]

  • The first 16 books were compiled into two 'Your Favourite Fireman Sam Story Collection' treasuries, eight in each one. For continuity reasons in the first one, The Pride of Pontypandy and A Surprise for Sarah are switched around. (As originally In Book 6: A Suprise for Sarah - Sarah was suprised to see a female firefighter (Penny) rescue her, as James and Norman had told her "girls can't be fireman". However, in Book 5: The Pride of Pontypandy - Penny had already helped the main crew rescue the twins and the adults from a landslide on the road. So, the way the twins first meet Penny in these books differs to the actual TV series.)
  • When the books were first published, they were numbered on the spines. In 1996, re-editions had replaced the number system with just an image of Sam's head.
