Plot[]

Station Officer Steele discovers his old fire engine, Bessie which later comes to the rescue when some gas canisters roll next to a log fire at the Mountain Activity Centre. the story is centered around an old, rail-based fire engine and a mountain emergency.

The episode begins with Station Officer Steele discovering his old, heritage fire engine, which he calls "Bessie," sitting unused at the Pontypandy train station. Driven by nostalgia and a desire to see the unique vehicle restored, Steele begins working on the engine to get it running again. Meanwhile, the Pontypandy fire crew are busy with their usual duties, unaware that Bessie will soon become crucial to a major rescue operation. A crisis soon erupts at the Mountain Activity Centre. Moose, possibly due to a campfire that got out of control, has inadvertently caused a dangerous situation where several gas canisters are at risk of exploding due to a nearby fire. The emergency is severe, requiring immediate intervention from Fireman Sam and his team.

However, the team face a significant obstacle: the Pontypandy Flyer, the standard passenger train, is up at the mountains, which is the only quick and accessible route up the mountain to the Activity Centre. With precious time slipping away, the team realizes they’ll never get the equipment up there, as they cannot reach the location in time. At this critical juncture, Station Officer Steele announces that Bessie is back in working order.
