Barn Fire is the second episode of the first series of Fireman Sam.

Plot[]

On a very hot day, Sarah and James are picking potatoes for Bella when they hear Jupiter coming. The Fire Service has had a busy day, dealing with lots of fires caused from spontaneous combustion. Sarah and James explain that they're helping Bella with the potatoes for the next day’s chips and Sam tells them to carry on the good work. Dilys packs Norman a picnic and sends him off fishing. At the station the bells ring and they are called to a barn fire at Pandy Lane Farm. By the time they get there the fire has engulfed the entire barn and Sam and Elvis lay out a jet and get to work. The jet is causing almost no effect and Jupiter’s water tank is running low due to the high pressure needed, which also almost sends Elvis flying. The water tank runs out just as they put the fire out and refill at a nearby pond where Norman happens to be fishing. Norman fishes out a plug when the crew are filling up and thinks he accidentally drained the pond. Sam notices some scrap bits and makes a potato picker for Sarah and James and offers them a lift back to Pontypandy in Jupiter, unwittingly leaving an annoyed Norman behind.
