...some of those businesses that sell fire safety equipment (e.g., hoses, extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc.) were founded by people who wanted to be firefighters but failed to meet the requirements.
@NormalGuy2005 Hence why I asked. I was disappointed with the face when I made the first mockup, since Bob, Wendy and Sir Topham Hatt look good despite having regular heads. Chars with rounder heads like Steele, Penny, Norman and Bella would look fine that way, but most of the others wouldn't. Could be one reason why they never made this theme when they worked with HiT.

They made those "play watches" but never made Sam's alarm clock from the intro. Been wondering if it might be possible to wire lights to an existing (electronic) one to make them flash when it rings.
The shape of this old Megcos fire engine I had reminded me of classic Jupiter when I found it again as a teen, so I lightly customised it with paint, labels and markers and it (kind of) looked the part. To avoid modifying the lightbar, I covered its left light with a gold label in lieu of a proper bell. Its location is currently unknown and I haven't seen it again since. Never took any photos of it either.
According to someone known as Ed Hornby, one of FS' animators told him American networks wanted to buy the show but asked that they get rid of the fires/reduce the number of emergencies in the plots - when it's literally a firefighting show and there weren't that many fires in it back then. They didn't reject it because of 999 instead of 911 or even Norman's dangerous behaviour, but because it depicted an emergency service doing what it's supposed to do.
The late Efron Etkin quit the role after The Great Fire of Pontypandy (due to his complications), and Levy took over in S7 onwards.
2019 was the 32nd anniversary. Should've made a custom logo for 2017.
Yes. Hop! were apparently so "bent" on Hebraising (most of) the names that they initially even renamed the only char who has a non-Anglicised Hebrew name in Welsh/English. Ben was reverted to James in S6 onwards.
I've added 99% of the character names and VAs to the Other Languages list, including (more or less) when each VA took over a role and which names were reverted to the originals. For instance: in Season 5, Edna was changed back to Sarah but James was still named Ben.
Norman (Adam)'s VAs in the CGI series made things a bit complicated, since he seems to have had more than any of the other regulars - five in total - and the info about them on Ishim is "all over the place". For characters who were recast, they only mention the years during which the preceding/succeeding VAs played them and not which seasons/episodes; with the obvious exception of specials.
Efron Etkin (the first Hebrew voice of Elvis) died of cancer in 2012. He also voiced Piglet from Winnie the Pooh, Robin Hood in the Disney film, Dolf from Alfred J. Kwak, Splinter in TMNT 2003 and many other characters.
@NormalGuy2005 Fire poles were found to be too dangerous in real life (but not completely obsolete because there are safety improvements), so slides are the actual replacement for them at most stations; at least in the US.
Could be another example of Mattel's Americanisation of the HiT catalogue.

@BA38P Now I get why this account posted some of "their" (your) other work here. Thanks for explaining.
I know the other prefixes since I checked the Wikipedia list to find the one for Australia (and recalled G for UK from other sources). Here, it's 4X.
Just found out Tigerleprechaun42 used "G-WLBY" for a fan made redesign of Wallaby 2. Both the Australian regs I came up with (VH) are taken in real life, but they're not helicopters nor emergency aircraft.

In line with similar edits of Thomas characters I made years ago - James and Philip with the flag and Jeremy in El Al livery - I wanted to see how the vehicles from the (original) Fireman Sam series could've looked if Hop! had the technology to localise the footage; without having to reshoot the series. While I have seen North American-style fan art and an edit of Season 5 Jupiter to look more realistic, I haven't seen anything like this before. Full list of changes:
Blue lights recoloured red
Bell on Jupiter replaced with second beacon
Mirrored both shots so Sam and Penny would be on the right
Pontypandy Fire Service emblem replaced with Israeli Fire and Rescue emblem (pre-2017)
Added "כבאות והצלה" ("Fire and Rescue") text above locker doors, with "כבאות והצלה לפונטיפנדי" ("Pontypandy Fire and Rescue") on Jupiter and the station sign
License plates recoloured yellow and translated as "י 102" - Yud 102 (J 999) and "ו 201" - Vav 201 (V 666)
Jupiter's bumper recoloured black to resemble most local fire vehicles at the time; excluding E-One units, which did have chrome silver bumpers
I don't plan to edit the S5+ designs or have Trevor work for Egged (or similar).
The ones for the 1990s shows were not dedicated "costumes" like those for the civilian characters, but actual turnout gear provided by the Hampshire Fire Service.
The CGI mascot suits (which are also used in my country) look more "high budget" than those from On Stage, which look like they were rushed despite all the time, effort and resources needed for them.
